Heterogeneity and cohesion
Highly differentiated modern societies are characterised by increasing processes of social fragmentation and individualisation of living conditions, which makes the problem of social cohesion, including its ethical, legal and socio-political aspects, more relevant than ever. In addition to analysing migration processes, phenomena of ethnic-cultural diversity, changes in gender relations and intergenerational relations, new/old social inequalities and the conflicts that accompany them, studies on the social-theoretical, institutional, ideological and religious foundations of social integration are on the research network's agenda. In addition, an international and historical comparative perspective is adopted.
