The doctoral program provides a space in which doctoral candidates from different subject areas can exchange ideas with each other and with professors from diverse academic disciplines. An interdisciplinary doctoral seminar is conducted once per academic year (summer semester, 6 ECTS).
Annette Sprung, Nadja Grbić, and Andrea Strutz act as spokespersons for the program.
In addition, networking activities have been implemented at a national level with members of relevant doctoral programs at five universities (University of Innsbruck, University of Salzburg, Mozarteum Salzburg, Danube University Krems, University of Graz). The first Austria-wide PhD conference was held in December 2020, and the second PhD conference took place as part of the annual conference of the Commission for Migration and Integration Research (ÖAW) at the Danube University Krems in September 2022. Further events are being planned.
