Media and social movements

Media and social movements play a central role in shaping the political dynamics, knowledge production and cultural norms, to name but a few of the contemporary world. It is not surprising, then, that as such they remain at the center of attention for many scholars, activists and the general public. The cluster Media and Social Movements brings together researchers working on these two topics and their interactions from different disciplinary, theoretical and methodological angles. Our aim is to engage these scholars, to make them aware of the common points of research, to provide a platform for exchange of knowledge in the respective fields, to disseminate their work, to invite international relevant guest lectures and to encourage the possibility of future cooperation in the form of projects, conferences, and workshops.
